#TopTrends: Spring/Summer 2024 Edition

Spring has sprung, and so has our taste for something new. Whether you want a fresh look or a chic hairdo, a little springtime rebrand is always in style.

But when it comes to the trends, which are in season? Sit back, sip a spritz, and read on for our top 10 spring/summer trends:

New Season, New You

What better way to shed off the winter months and welcome warmer days than with a fresh haircut? This season, short hair reins.

Trend #1 For a bold, low-maintenance, face-focused look, the pixie cut is a must.

Trend#2 Or, give the reimagined bob cut a try. Gracing runaways and social media campaigns worldwide, the bob has become the new "it" cut and is here to stay. '

Trend #3 If layers aren’t scary, go for the choppy, 70s-inspired shag cut. This modern take on a classic style uses face-framing layering to create a naturally textured look, perfect for free-flowing all spring & summer long.

Bring on Braids

Trend #4 Whether it is to hide frizz, keep things cool, or look cute, braids are the now and future. Popular spring trends include French braids, crown braids, and box braids. In truth, the styling options for braids are limitless.

Best of Both

Trend #5 is another blast from the past, with the 90s-inspired half-updo. Pulling off this look is easy for anyone, from novice stylist to expert. (Also great when the styling indecisiveness is real). No matter the reasoning, a half-do hairstyle can do no wrong.

Style Tip: For an elevated how-to, start by blow-drying using our Keratin X-press to control frizz and strengthen hair. Then section off the top half of your hair and twist into a loose bun with an elastic hair band, securing it in place. Use bobby pins to shape the bun tuck away flyaways, and finish with a little hairspray spritz.

Classic Styles, Modern Takes

Trend #6 stands the test of winds, which are handy in spring weather. We're talking pigtails, the iconic, back-in-style trend that could do no wrong this season.

Trend #7 Side-swept. This asymmetrical look is seen all over red carpets, and for good reason. Easy and elegant, the side-swept hair is a spring go-to for longer lengths.

Style Tip: Side part your hair and apply light hair spray to hold. Then add some Argan Oil for the ultimate shiny, sleek finish.

Trend #8 Go oxblood red. Push your style limits with this trending color and celebrity favorite. Make sure to revitalize on wash day using a good shampoo/mask for color-treated hair.

Trend #9 Single strands all spring long. This look, which involves a tight updo minus a single free strand at either side of the face, can be seen everywhere. Celebrities like Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya are side-stranded frequents, and we love it.

Trend #10 Always a trend, hair health is vital. No matter the look, the style, or the cut, maintaining healthy hair during the spring (or any season) is a must. Check out our post on healthy hair tips for spring here (link to post), and try that spring look you've been eyeing!
